We have been building this community for the last 13 years and we will not let it fade away. But we need your help!
The GLC Professional Fellows program has successfully run for 13 years with its first European delegation travelling to the US in the Spring of 2012. Since then our alumni community has grown to 350+ civil society professionals from Central and Eastern Europe; and 150+ US professionals, predominantly community organizers.
Throughout all these years, the program operated mainly with the financial support of the US Department of State. As of the spring of 2025, this funding is no longer available.
But we are not giving up. We have been building this alumni community for the last 13 years and we will not let it fade away. We want to keep the networks, relationships, partnerships and learning resources, along with our shared willingness to learn, fight and win for our communities. So we will rely on the ideas, time and resources of the alumni group itself to keep building and even expanding on this work.
We, as the participatory elected Board to represent the interests of the alumni community, have agreed to invest time and limited financial resources by the end of 2025 in pursuing possibilities to keep our network connected and thriving. We are looking at developing two key lines of action:
- Networking and engagement of the existing community network
- Training new cohorts of community organizing in online or hybrid manner

In the meantime, we invite you to stay connected and remain an active and responsive community member. This community is worth it and we will do our best to keep it vibrant, supportive and organized. We might not have the funding right now, but we have the power.
