It has been a long wait, but it is finally happening!

Twenty three GLC Professional Fellows from Europe from the 2020/2021 cohort have all arrived to their placements in the U.S. by May 16th!

The group was supposed to travel in the fall of 2020 and the spring of 2021. Due to the pandemic the original plans had to be changed and GLCAP and it’s partners had to find innovative solutions to overcome the challenges that prevented any international travels for a much longer period of time than we anticipated at the beginning.

This extra period of time forced us to adjust our plans and introduce a Virtual Fellowship to our participant to with professional training, skill building, networking and alumni engagement opportunities as well as a with short virtual internship opportunity at U.S. hosting organizations.

The virtual program with a minimum of 40 credit hours became a pre-requisite of the delayed U.S. trip started on August 31, 2020 and completed with a Grand Finale event on May 27, 2021. From the 34 fellows who started the journey 29 completed the virtual program and enjoyed the “on-boarding” experience to become a PFP alumni and received a virtual program certificate. 23 of them are now finally in the U.S.

You can see details about our fellows, the list of their hosting organizations in the U.S. and a lot more information in the special newsletter below.

While we extend our deepest gratitude towards everyone who helped for this trip to finally happen, we wish our fellows safe, exciting and fruitful stay in the U.S. until June 12th 2022!
